Many young race drivers have promise and potential. Ryan Blaney, 22, who is driving his second full Monster Energy NASCAR Cup season with Wood Brothers Racing in 2017, already has championship credentials.

Blaney was a key part of Team Penske’s 2013, 2014 and 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series Owner’s Championships. He scored a win in 2013, and in 2014 posted a win, 10 top-5 finishes, 13 top 10s, and 207 laps led in 14 starts driving the No. 12 Ford Mustang. In 2015, he scored 2 wins, 9 top-5 finishes, 10 top 10s and led 403 laps in 13 starts driving the No. 22 Ford Mustang.
Driving the No. 29 Ford F-150 for Brad Keselowski Racing in the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Blaney finished in the top 10 in all 5 races entered, scoring a win, a pole and 3 top 5 finishes. In 2014 he finished second in the championship, driving the No. 29. He posted a win, 12 top 5s and 17 top 10s in 22 CWTS starts. In 2013, Blaney was the CWTS Sunoco Rookie of the Year with a win, a pole, eight top 5s and 13 top-10 finishes. In September 2012, Blaney became the youngest winner in CWTS at the time (18 years, eight months and 15 days) when he took the checkered flag at Iowa Speedway.
Son of NASCAR Sprint Cup veteran Dave Blaney, Ryan Blaney started his racing career in quarter midgets and won his first race at age 9. He has competed in and been successful in Bandolero cars, Legend cars, late-model stock cars, and the ARCA Racing Series before making his debut in NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series West
