The Wood Brothers are happy to announce their support of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, “Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” and the “Ford Cares” program. In honor of these causes, the Wood Brothers No. 21 Ford Fusion driven by past champion Bill Elliott will feature a special Ford Motor Company “Warriors in Pink” paint scheme. The new paint scheme will debut at Lowe’s Motor Speedway during the NASCAR “Banking 500 only from Bank of America” on October 17.
Driver Bill Elliott will also be wearing a specially-designed Ford “Warriors in Pink” fire suit and helmet during the race that will be auctioned off online after the race (auction date and specifics to be announced). One hundred percent of auction proceeds will go to “Susan G. Komen for the Cure.”
“Ford came to us with the idea of running this special paint scheme, and we were pleased to be able to do it for them,” said Eddie Wood, co-owner of Wood Brothers Racing. “We’re proud to represent Ford Motor Company and all its employees in this cause, and we sure hope to be able to draw more awareness to the ‘Warriors in Pink’ initiative.”
Fans can help Ford fight for the cure by visiting fordcares.com and purchasing exclusive “Warriors in Pink” apparel featuring important symbols of hope, strength and unity. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from every purchase go directly to “Susan G. Komen for the Cure.”
